FOND DU LAC AMATEUR RADIO CLUB, Inc.
Join Us On Sunday Evenings For Our Weekly Net: 1930 Hrs 145.430 MHz – Tone 97.4 Hz
The Fond du Lac Amateur Radio Club will be working Field Day again this year in the north parking lot of the UW-FDL. (Click here for map)
Operators will set up in our Mobile Communications Unit (the "yellow banana") and in several member-owned RVs. There will be a "food tent" with refreshments to keep the troops awake and moving.
In previous years the Club's focus was on being "first" in the 2A Class in Wisconsin. We succeeded in that for many years; but, starting last year, we changed our focus to "including everyone who wants to operate." We found that this "more inclusive" attitude brought more of our newer members to the event...and they worked stations and made contacts on their favorite modes and had a great time! So this year, we will again be working "3A Class" with transceivers and operators on CW, phone and PSK31. All activities will be powered by portable gas-powered electric generators in keeping with the requirement of operating "off the grid."
Visitors are always welcome at our events. If you are interested in amateur radio, please drop in, talk with us and learn about "ham" radio. You may even be able to "get on the air" and talk with a ham overseas!
